Designers We Love to Work With: Marlene Lynch

Judy’s Custom Workroom is an ASID Industry Partner and proud to be so many designers’ choice workroom. One designer we love to work with is Marlene Lynch, owner and lead designer of Lynch Design Group.

We have served as Marlene’s workroom for the last several years and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her clients love her too. She really  goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are happy throughout the whole process of their home transformations.

Her attention to detail is unsurpassed. Marlene and Judy’s Custom Workroom have collaborated to create so many beautiful pieces of furniture and window treatments.

Thank you to Marlene and to all of our designers! We appreciate your business and look forward to bringing many more of your designs to life!

Cornice Box Possibilities!

Cornice boxes are constantly being made here at Judy’s Custom Workroom. They are wonderful window treatments on their own or on top of drapery panels, roman and roller shades, and blinds. With cornice boxes you can cover up not so pretty hardware and window frames you would prefer to hide.

There are so many options and possibilities when it comes to cornice boxes, and thanks to Pinterest we can give you some fun ideas!

You can add interest to simple shapes with trim, piping, contrast fabric, tassels, and nailheads. There are also so many fun geometric and scalloped, curvy designs you can create to give your room a sophisticated or whimsical look.

For a similar softer look, valances are another great window treatment. Keep following to see more of our Pinterest inspiration posts!

JCW Welcomes Design Students!

A big thank you to Orange Coast College interior design students for coming in for our student day this month!

JCW and Professor Sandy Craig organized a day for her students to learn all about how designers work with a workroom. The students are currently enrolled in her Interior Materials and Products-ID150 course. We covered many topics including fabric selection and appropriate use, the variety of manufacturers and mills, yardage, pricing, and production. We went over the design process of custom furniture from concept to completion. Window treatments were also discussed. At the end of our presentation we answered questions and then gave a tour of our resource library and workroom. We hoped to reiterate that questions are always welcome-we are an ASID Industry Partner and here to help our designers!

It was a pleasure to meet everyone. We hope to have more educational events and introduce ourselves to more Southern California design students!

Here are some photos of our event…

Products We Can’t Wait to Use! Diamond Head

Introducing Diamond Head Elite Upholstery Tack! We are so excited to have a new “bling” resource for our custom furniture.

“Diamond Head tacks have set a new standard for luxury in the home furnishings market, and are sold exclusively through the design trade, including fine showrooms, premier furniture manufacturers, interior designers and select retailers such as Neiman Marcus Home.”

Diamond Head has three collections- Elite Diamond, Acrylic, and Luster Stone. They have 11 types of stone, including art-glass cabochon stone and Bohemian crystal from the Czech Republic. Any of these can be put in a silver, gold, or black setting and there are 5 different size options, ranging from 11mm to 25mm.

We can’t wait to create custom headboards, cornice boxes, furniture, and upholstered walls with these embellishments!

Designers We Love to Work With: Deirdre Eagles

Did you visit the beautiful Philharmonic House of Design in Laguna Beach this year?

Southern California interior designers transformed the 20th annual Philharmonic House of Design into a stunning retreat showcased from April 24th to May 20th. Funds raised support the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. The mission of the Philharmonic Society, a not-for-profit organization, is to foster, promote and increase the knowledge and appreciation of music and the arts through the presentation of performances of national and international stature and the development and implementation of a wide variety of education outreach programs.

We had the pleasure of working with Deirdre Eagles, the interior designer responsible for transforming the home’s kitchen and nook.  Deirdre Eagles Interior Design an award-winning full service residential interior design firm. The firm handles projects of all sizes and scopes, while specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodeling and custom homes. The firm has done projects throughout Southern California.

Deirdre (above) asked us at Judy’s Custom Workroom to come on board for her window treatments and some of her furniture. We were happy to help such a good cause and work with such a kind, committed designer.
