National Charity League Home Tour
We are so excited to be working on some interiors for the Canyon Chapter of National Charity League’s third annual Home Tour.
The fundraiser is on March 22nd, 2012.Â
“National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) is a non-profit national organization of mothers and daughters who join together in community involvement within local chapters throughout the United States. Our goal is to foster a sense of community responsibility and strengthen the mother-daughter relationship.
Attendees will tour finely appointed homes in Coto de Caza. The event begins at the Rancho Santa Margarita Bell Tower Community Center where you will check in and enjoy a light breakfast, courtesy of Cinnamon Productions, lunch from Hanna’s Restaurant, boutique shopping before and after the tour, and Transportation. All net proceeds will benefit local charities that we work with.”
We encourage everyone to come out to enjoy a fun day filled with design inspiration! To purchase tickets to the event go to http://www.nclcanyonhometour.com/. Look out for the beautiful rooms designed here at Judy’s Custom Workroom!
Before and After: Family Room and Nook
BEFORE:
A family room and nook in need of window treatments and comfortable furniture conducive for conversation and television viewing. Before the scale of the client’s existing sofa limited the placement. The rooms lack color and connection.
AFTER:
After getting to know our client and understanding their needs, we designed a beautiful space that would be perfect for their family. We were drawn to these cool shades of blue, white, and taupe. A darker distressed wood floor was the canvas for custom window treatments and furniture. A custom rug was added to bring everything together.

All of the furniture was created here at Judy’s Custom Workroom. We love these chairs!
Fabric: Kravet Bansuri-515
The family room is a small space so we created a custom ottoman with nailheads for storage. We also created a slightly smaller sofa with slimmer arms than the previous sofa to allow for more seating. The furniture now fits the room beautifully and the cool colors and “driftwood” finishes tie everything together.
Sofa fabric: Trend 02115-Driftwood

Missing the Holidays Already…
Happy New Year everyone! We’re back and ready for an exciting 2012!Â
…we’re just not so excited to take down holiday decorations, definitely not as much fun as putting them up! We thought we would share some photos of one of our client’s homes we decorated for the holidays this year.
The holiday season is when we all spend the most time enjoying our homes, snuggling up and hosting parties and family gatherings. You want your home to feel warm and welcoming and holiday decor puts everyone in a good mood. Keep us at Judy’s Custom Workroom/ Orange Coast Interior Design in mind for next year!
As you can see, we avoided the traditional Christmas reds and greens with the garland in this home. The color scheme is strictly white, gold, bronze, and silver to coordinate with the homes elegant furnishings and contemporary taste. We were still able to give the home a warm cozy feeling without using traditional decor and our client was very happy.
In addition to the entry staircase, we also made a custom garland for two fireplace mantles- one in the living room to match the staircase and the other more white and silver to match the family room furniture. Our client previous stockings were a little too casual and old fashioned for her taste, so we made new ones for her here at Judy’s Custom Workroom that look beautiful with her decor. They are so glamorous!
We hope everyone had a great holiday and is now enjoying this “winter” weather! 80s in January?! Love it.
