Arrivals: New Fabricut Fabrics

This just in! We just received 4 new Fabricut books in the mail. The books feature natural linen and cotton fabrics in mostly neutral tone hues. These fabrics are suitable for drapery, bedding and light upholstery. There is an array of florals, toiles, animal prints and woven solids…

We are planning on using Fabricut fabrics from the “Graceful Linens” collection for the window treatments in the breakfast nook and family room below. The home has beautiful views that just are just missing a beautiful frame. Our client was naturally drawn to these casual yet elegant fabrics. Keep following for “after” photos!

Who says neutral colors are boring? The texture of these fabrics adds visual interest. Here are a few fabrics we love from the “Nuances-Linen and Cotton” in color “Linen” book…

Also in the sample books we just received were some great cotton and linen sheer fabrics for window treatments. Here are a few of our favorites!

New Product: Lilly Pulitzer for Lee Jofa

“Lilly Pulitzer makes everyone look happier, richer and more fun-loving than they probably are. Lilly equals sunshine.”     -Jonathan Adler

We agree! And that’s why we are so excited to bring this sunshine inside! This summer Lee Jofa premieres its Lilly Pultizer signature line of home interior fabrics and trimmings. This line features the brand’s iconic prints of florals and beachy motifs that women have been wearing for over 50 years! The Lee Jofa line also includes “Lilly-esque” embroideries and jacquards, stripes, and coordinating solids-all suitable for upholstery, drapery, bedding, and pillows. We think these fabrics would be SO much fun to use in a coastal home or girls bedroom!

FROM FASHION TO HOME: Watch to hear Lilly Pulitzer’s story and see how her signature fashion style has evolved into a collection of whimsical interior fabrics!

Designer Events: Duralee

Thank you to all of those who attended our Duralee designer happy hour recently. Our guests enjoyed refreshments and each others company while Steve Halweg (below) showcased the latest Duralee, Clarke and Clarke, and Highland Court fabrics and wallcoverings. It was a wonderful way to spend a sunny Friday afternoon in Southern California.

If you were not able to attend this past event, worry not; we look forward to seeing you at future designer events hosted here at Judy’s Custom Workroom. Our next event will be in September, where we will be showcasing another one of our wonderful partners and will be sure to give you some great ideas for your next project. Keep following for your invitation!

Work in Progress: Dramatic Nursery

We are currently working on a very contemporary nursery. Our client wanted a modern look, and as for colors, our client requested brown, black, white, and silver. It will not be your typical nursery but we believe it will turn out to be very elegant and handsome. The baby boy will arrive in a few short weeks so we are on quite the deadline!

White carpet will be installed and the clients existing chairs will also be reupholstered in a white fabric TBD. We are also working on finding a fun chandelier for the center of the room. The wallpaper we have chosen so far is Amazone 28200- Peat Black Stripe from Arte for Koroseal, a collection we have been DYING to use since it arrived and hope to use more with future clients!

“In recent years the trend has switched back to beautiful objects of yesteryear. And this means that the right kind of wallcovering is needed to go with them. Amazone fits in perfectly with this trend. It is a unique and exclusive wallcovering in very beautiful crumpled fabric that is the ultimate in chic. The fabric is taffeta, rich and densely woven that produces a very special effect when the light falls on it. The smooth finish is magnificent in itself, and the design is a pure gem. An outstanding example of craftsmanship too, because the prints are made using a very sophisticated flock technique producing a totally divine result. Available in colors such as black black, praline brown, theatre red, frozen chestnut, ivory, laurel green, bronze green, brick red, storm blue and rust. Amazone: this time, Arte has clearly surpassed itself.”

Product Highlight: Calvin Klein Home

One of Kravet’s “Fashion” collections we love is Calvin Klein Home

“Calvin Klein Home for Kravet Collections has a look and feel that is modern, luxurious, and sophisticated. These fabrics showcase the clean, pure form that is distinctly Calvin Klein Home, now reinterpreted for interiors. In these collections, the yarns are rich, the textures are opulent and the iconic minimalism of Calvin Klein brand is evident everywhere.”

Below are custom klismos chairs in Calvin Klein fabric in Jeniffer Lopez‘s home, featured in Veranda magazine.

We worked on a very contemporary home in Crystal Cove recently. The bedroom’s (below left) custom headboard and bedding are done with all Calvin Klein Home fabrics. We love the relaxing simplicity of this space. We also used Calvin Klein fabrics in the home’s living room and great room. The fabrics can be used in formal settings as well as casual spaces, both exhibit the sophistication that Calvin Klein endorses.
