Pindler Presents: Newport Mansions Doris Duke.

Pindler’s Newport Mansions Doris Duke™ Indoor/Outdoor Collection is an eclectic assortment of exotic patterns inspired by the batiks, sarongs, kimonos, and personal gatherings of an iconic world traveler, Doris Duke. Doris Duke had a passion for hand crafted textiles from around the globe, which we have illustrated with this group.

For this collection, our inspirations were found in the archives at Doris Duke’s Rough Point estate in Newport, Rhode Island.  We were excited to discover a trunk filled with artisan indigo hand woven textiles all dyed with indigo using century old techniques, collected during her travels in various countries around the world.  Each document has an interesting story and unique process to how it was made.  We have interpreted the original batiks into a performance Indoor-Outdoor story all woven with 100% solution dyed acrylic.

Solution dyed all-weather acrylic is the perfect performance fabric for casual indoor and outdoor living. Solution-dyed acrylic is durable, resists moisture, fading and mildew, while its also beautiful, breathable, and feels soft and comfortable to the touch.

Fabricut’s Mount Vernon Embroidery and Mount Vernon Trimmings – Volume II

Fabricut and the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association collaborate to help preserve a piece of American history. In its second collection inspired by the vast grounds and treasured archives of the first president’s remarkable estate in Virginia, Fabricut’s Mount Vernon Embroidery and Mount Vernon Trimmings – Volume II reveal the elegant and hospitable spirit of George and Martha Washington.

Drawing inspiration from Mount Vernon Mansion and the estate’s collection of fine and decorative art objects including lacquer boxes, a writing desk and a punch strainer, Fabricut translates and updates these beautiful artifacts into an embroidery and trimming collection. With a rich mix of florals, medallions and lattices, Mount Vernon Embroidery and Mount Vernon Trimmings – Volume II incorporates a historical undertone that is fresh for today’s traditional and transitional interiors.

Lee Jofa is proud to announce a new collection from the legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. The collection, which includes fabric and a debut selection of wallpaper, is a follow up to the 2010 debut of Oscar de la Renta Home for Lee Jofa.

The new collection builds upon the most successful elements of the first collection, with new embroideries, saturated ikats and ethnic-inspired patterns, all exhibiting the fine tailoring and detailing that is the Oscar de la Renta signature. From romantic floral chintz to exotic embroidered kuba cloth, one sees the same sensibility he brings to his clothes. The collection features traditional colors and patterns, rendered in a thoroughly modern scale and ideal for upholstery and drapery that adds sophistication and elegance to any space.

“This is a very iconic collection, in the sense that it most reflects Oscar’s lifestyle and sense of refinement, and all that he loves the most: His passion for gardens, his love of romantic chintzes, exotic prints and rich saturated colors,” said Carolina Irving, Creative Director of Home. “This is a diverse collection that can live in a country house, a New York apartment or a tropical island, but always with the same connecting thread, Oscar’s sense of elegance.”

Oscar de la Renta Home for Lee Jofa is now available in Lee Jofa showrooms throughout North America.

Fabricut: Nature’s Song Embroidery Process..

Mount Vernon for Fabricut’s Nature’s Song pattern is inspired by an illustration in Mark Catesby’s Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands (1731), a book found in Mount Vernon’s library during George Washington’s time. Refreshed for today’s traditional and transitional interiors, we take you behind the mill for an interesting glimpse into how the hoops are placed by hand and the birds are embroidered by machine after the printed process.

Nature’s Song is available in five colorways: Amber, Cardinal, Federal, Garden and Verdigris.
