Orange Coast Interior Design

Wonder what is going on at Orange Coast Interior Design & Judy’s Custom Workroom lately?
This week we are in the early stages of designing 3 clients’ homes-selecting fabrics and materials, producing renderings, and conceptual images…

Below are selections for a contemporary great room. The colors are dark brown, ivory, and turquoise with an accent of orange and silver. The wallcovering we want to use is a chocolate crocodile faux leather. We think the vaulted ceiling would be awesome if painted metallic silver!
Below are some possible accent and drapery fabric.
We plan on making most of the furniture illustrated below here at Judy’s Custom Workroom.
We would love to make 4 contemporary wingback chairs in a turquoise velvet with textured ivory leather backs and silver nailheads.

Here are some materials we have put together for another client’s a dining room/living room and family room/nook

Our client is debating adding some blue into the space. This Harlequin stripe fabric is perfect!
The wallcoverings we have selected are also Harlequin.

Below are fabrics, materials and inspiration photos for a whole home remodel. We love this gray and yellow color scheme!
The design is transitional- we are creating and selecting traditional furniture pieces and furnishings, but in contemporary colors and finishes.
Many of the fabrics are from Duralee’s Suburban Home and Designer Eileen Kathryn Boyd.
This home is currently in demolition and we are so excited to get started!!!

Stay tuned for more photos of these homes and project updates!

New Collections from Osborne & Little

Many of the fabrics and wall coverings in the Fall 2011 collections are  inspired by wildlife, but these fabrics and wall coverings also come in tame, sophisticated colorways.

SABI COLLECTION: Modern fabrics are ideal for contemporary hotel design. Their washability also makes them an attractive choice for domestic interiors. Most of the designs are interpretations of the coats or skins of wild animals and are named after game reserves in Africa. Fabrics with a similar animal theme and colour palette are to be found in SABI VELVETS.

SABI VELVETS: A collection of four velvets named after African game reserves, embossed to resemble animal skins and coats. All have excellent Martindale abrasion results.

KOMODO WALLPAPER: Non-woven easy-to-hang wallcoverings. A collection of contemporary designs all printed on a durable non-woven base takes its main inspiration from the coats and skins of wild animals. Similar themes are to be found in the fabrics of SABI TREVIRA and SABI VELVETS.

Check out the “Komodo” pattern! An exotic lizard printed on holographic foil with a glittering jewel encrusted effect.

Product We Can’t Wait to Use!

Studioart Leather Interiors

Check out these leather walls from Studiart! We now have their catalog and a few samples here at Judy’s Custom Workroom and would absolutely LOVE to use their leather wall tiles for our clients. Such a unique product and as you can see, very unique applications…

“The uniqueness of each Leatherwall collection is expressed in the versatility of the colors, patterns, geometric designs and sizes, the the natural shades of individual tesserae, as well as in the seductive blend of textures, light and shadow, in sophisticated top-stitching and in the sculptural allure created by the combination of flat and padded surfaces.”

Studioart has so many beautiful wall tiles we would use for residential projects as well as eccentric colors and materials that we would love to use in hotels, lounges, nightclubs, and other hospitality spaces like the restaurant below. This restaurant features tiles from the Klimt collection…

“The Klimt collection, which is particularly elaborate and lavish, is based on a selection of 24 types of leather with various finishes, patterns and textures. The resulting surface has great vibrancy thanks to the rich hues and light, achieved through interesting variation between shades of red, blue, orange, green, gold, silver and the chiaroscuro contrast in the optical version. A composite creation reminiscent of Art Nouveau in its execution and production, Klimt is the most complex collection in terms of research and production, with cutting-edge technology taking leather into the world of ancient mosaics.”

These walls definitely make a statement. Not only does Studioart have gorgeous product, but they offer full customization. We can specify desired leather material, size, shape, and design to create a wall personalized to perfection!

Work in Progress: Dramatic Nursery

We are currently working on a very contemporary nursery. Our client wanted a modern look, and as for colors, our client requested brown, black, white, and silver. It will not be your typical nursery but we believe it will turn out to be very elegant and handsome. The baby boy will arrive in a few short weeks so we are on quite the deadline!

White carpet will be installed and the clients existing chairs will also be reupholstered in a white fabric TBD. We are also working on finding a fun chandelier for the center of the room. The wallpaper we have chosen so far is Amazone 28200- Peat Black Stripe from Arte for Koroseal, a collection we have been DYING to use since it arrived and hope to use more with future clients!

“In recent years the trend has switched back to beautiful objects of yesteryear. And this means that the right kind of wallcovering is needed to go with them. Amazone fits in perfectly with this trend. It is a unique and exclusive wallcovering in very beautiful crumpled fabric that is the ultimate in chic. The fabric is taffeta, rich and densely woven that produces a very special effect when the light falls on it. The smooth finish is magnificent in itself, and the design is a pure gem. An outstanding example of craftsmanship too, because the prints are made using a very sophisticated flock technique producing a totally divine result. Available in colors such as black black, praline brown, theatre red, frozen chestnut, ivory, laurel green, bronze green, brick red, storm blue and rust. Amazone: this time, Arte has clearly surpassed itself.”
